FAQ
Quick answers to the questions store owners ask most.
The basics
Do I need FluentCart?
Yes. Smart Product Gallery replaces FluentCart's product gallery, so it does nothing without FluentCart installed and active. Requirements →
What's the difference between the free plugin and Pro?
There's a free Smart Product Gallery for FluentCart on WordPress.org. It includes the Thumbs Bottom and Thumbs Top layouts, the slider, arrows and dots, thumbnail styling, the Default and Inside (2x) zoom styles, the shortcode, the block and custom CSS. Smart Product Gallery Pro adds the other nine layouts, the lightbox, the Outside and Magnific zoom styles, more pagination styles, and every option the free plugin shows with a Pro tag. Everything else on this site applies to both. Side-by-side comparison →
Do I need both plugins for Pro?
No. Pro works on its own. If both are active, the free plugin steps aside and Pro takes over, using the same settings.
Where are the settings?
FluentCart → Product Gallery in your WordPress admin. You'll also find a Settings link under the plugin on the Plugins screen.
I activated it, but my product pages look the same.
Most likely you use a block theme, such as Twenty Twenty-Five. On block themes there's one extra step: putting Smart Product Gallery's block into the Single Product template. Block themes →
Layouts and settings
Can I use a different layout on different products?
No. Settings are global. One configuration styles every product's gallery. That's what keeps a store consistent, and it means a new product looks right the moment you publish it. The one exception: you can place a gallery on an ordinary page with the shortcode, but it still uses the same global look.
Can I have more than one configuration and switch between them?
Not today. There's one set of settings, with Reset Tab to return a tab to its defaults. Before a big change, note down the values you want to keep, or take a screenshot of the tab.
Which layout should I use?
If you're unsure, start with Thumbs Bottom. Shoppers already know how it works. Use Thumbs Left or Thumbs Right when you want the gallery shorter. Use a grid layout (Tiles, Hierarchy Grid, Modern Grid) when shoppers should see every photo at once. Layouts Overview →
Why did some options disappear when I changed layout?
The settings page only shows what applies to the layout you've chosen. Grid layouts have no slider, so the Gallery Slider and Navigation & Pagination sub-tabs hide. The Slider layout has no thumbnails, so thumbnail settings hide. Switch back and they return, with your values intact. Settings Overview →
Images
Does it support video?
No. The gallery shows the product's images: the featured image, the gallery images and each variation's images.
Where do the images come from? Do I upload them to the plugin?
You don't upload anything to the plugin. It uses the images you've already added to each product in FluentCart. To change what appears, edit the product.
Do variation images work?
Yes. When a shopper picks a variation, the gallery shows that variation's photos. Variation Images →
Does it crop or change my images?
No. Your files in the Media Library stay exactly as they are. The plugin only chooses which registered image size to display. You set that under Gallery → Product Image for the main image and General → Thumbnails Size for thumbnails.
Compatibility
Does it work in the shop's quick-view pop-up?
Yes. Smart Product Gallery loads its gallery into FluentCart's View Options pop-up automatically. Quick View Pop-up →
Does it work with Elementor, Divi, Bricks or Oxygen?
Yes. Often it appears automatically. When it doesn't, place it with each builder's Shortcode element and [smart_product_gallery]. Editors & Page Builders →
Is there a shortcode?
Yes. [smart_product_gallery] shows the current product's gallery. Add product_id="123" to show a specific product on any page. Shortcode →
Does it work with right-to-left languages?
Yes. Turn on RTL Mode under Gallery → Gallery Slider so the slider moves in the right direction. Accessibility & RTL →
License
What does the license key do?
It links your site to your Pro purchase, which is how ShapedPlugin verifies the site for updates and support. Activate it under Advanced → License Key. Activating your license →
Can I move my license to another site?
Yes. Click Deactivate under Advanced → License Key on the old site, then activate the same key on the new one.
