Uninstalling & Data
What Smart Product Gallery stores, what deactivating and deleting each do, and how to remove it cleanly.
What the plugin stores
Very little. Smart Product Gallery doesn't create database tables, and it doesn't touch your products or your Media Library. Here's everything it keeps:
| What | Where | Which plugin |
|---|---|---|
| Your gallery settings, all of them | One option, smart_product_gallery_options | Both. They share it |
| License status | The option smart_product_gallery_pro_license_key_status | Pro |
| A one-time settings upgrade flag | The option fluentcart_pg_value_vocab_migrated | Free |
Your product images belong to FluentCart and WordPress, not to this plugin. Removing Smart Product Gallery never deletes a photo.
Deactivating vs deleting
| You… | What happens |
|---|---|
| Deactivate the plugin | FluentCart's original gallery comes back on your product pages. Your settings are kept. Reactivate and everything is as you left it. |
| Delete the plugin (Plugins → Delete) | WordPress runs the plugin's clean-up, which deletes the options above. If you reinstall, you start again from the defaults. |
On a multisite network, deleting the plugin removes those options from every site on the network, not only the one you're looking at.
Upgraded to Pro? Don't delete the free plugin
Free and Pro save your settings to the same option, and each plugin's clean-up deletes it. If you move to Pro and then delete the free plugin, its clean-up wipes the settings Pro is using, and Pro falls back to its defaults. To tidy up after upgrading, deactivate the free plugin and leave it. If you've already deleted it, open FluentCart → Product Gallery, set things up again, and Save Settings.
If you use a block theme
On a block theme, you swapped FluentCart's gallery block for Smart Product Gallery's in the Single Product template (how). WordPress saves that template change in your theme's data, not in the plugin. Removing the plugin doesn't undo it.
If you remove Smart Product Gallery, put the template back first, or your product pages will have an empty space where the gallery was:
- Go to Appearance → Editor → Templates → Single Product.
- Either swap the blocks back (remove Smart Product Gallery's Product Gallery block and insert FluentCart's), or use the template's ⋮ menu → Reset to return the whole template to FluentCart's original.
- Save.
Shortcodes in pages and builders
If you placed [smart_product_gallery] in a page or a page-builder template, it stays there after you remove the plugin. WordPress then shows the raw text [smart_product_gallery] on the page. Remove those shortcodes, or put FluentCart's own gallery element back, before or after uninstalling.
Before you delete: a checklist
- Moving to Pro? Deactivate the free plugin. Don't delete it.
- Moving the license to another site? Open Advanced → License Key and click Deactivate first, so the activation is freed up.
- Block theme? Put the Single Product template back.
- Shortcodes? Remove them from pages and builder templates.
- Then go to Plugins, deactivate Smart Product Gallery, and click Delete.
